CHIP
CHIP (the Children's Health Insurance Program) gives low-cost health coverage to uninsured children in families that earn too much for Medicaid.
CHIP is health insurance for children whose families earn more than the Medicaid limit but can't afford private insurance. Some states also cover pregnant people through CHIP.
Each state runs its own CHIP program and sets its own income limits and costs. Some states run CHIP as part of Medicaid. You can apply at any time of year through your state or through HealthCare.gov.
Applying is free, and only your state decides if your child qualifies.
