Expedited SNAP

A faster way to get SNAP benefits within 7 days if you qualify and meet income rules.

Expedited SNAP lets you get SNAP (the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits quickly—usually within 7 days instead of the normal 30 days. You qualify for expedited benefits if your household meets the income and other rules for SNAP.

Expedited SNAP is especially helpful if you've lost your job, had an emergency, or need food right away. The process is the same as regular SNAP. You apply through your state's SNAP agency, and applying is free. The agency decides whether you qualify based on your income, household size, expenses and other factors.

If you don't qualify for expedited benefits, you can still apply for regular SNAP. Either way, you'll get benefits on an EBT card to buy food at authorized stores.
